- 1975 - Rosemary Kendall is found by Joe Sugden and Matt Skilbeck.
- 1982 - Tom Merrick leaves the village for Aberdeen.
- 1998 - Chris Tate and Kelly Windsor announce to Kelly's parents Vic and Viv that she is pregnant. The news leaves Vic and Viv, especially Vic, livid. First appearance of Donna Windsor since 1997 and first appearance of Verity Rushworth in the role.
- 2009 - Sandy Thomas holds Marlon and Eli Dingle hostage, almost shooting Eli when he tries to grab Sandy's granddaughter Jasmine. However, his son and daughter-in-law Ashley and Laurel burst in, and Ashley convinces him to put the gun down.
- 2010 - Cain Dingle hijacks one of the Emmerdale Haulage vans, unaware fiancee Charity Dingle is driving in it with her son Noah.
- 2011 - Lisa Dingle reports Derek Benrose to the police for rape.
- 2013 - Edna Birch collapses inside Woodbine Cottage.
- 2020 - The hostage situation at Mulberry Cottage reaches its climax when Rhona Goskirk comes face to face with Pierce Harris. Kim Tate arrives and gets knocked out by Pierce who ties her up and leaves her upstairs with Vanessa and Johnny Woodfield. Rhona managed to win Pierce's trust and uses Kim's phone to live-stream Pierce confessing to the murder of Graham Foster, alerting the villagers who call the police. In the end, Rhona outsmarts Pierce, injecting him with a vial strong enough to sedate a bull and he falls to the floor before the police arrive and arrest him.
- 2021 - Tracy Metcalfe gives birth to a daughter, whom she names Frankie, after her deceased dad.

- 2009 - Tyne Tees Television and Border Television transmit their final episodes. After this date, episodes were transmitted in the region by the newly amalgamated ITV Tyne Tees & Border.
