Celia Winterton was the fiancee of Dryden Hogben, and came to Beckindale in July 1974 to search for him. When she met up with Dryden, he reminded her how she got him to propose to her. Celia said they are meant to be together. However, Dryden preferred a life of travel and living in the outdoors and left the village suddenly, not revealing to anyone where he was going. After seeking advice from Annie Sugden, Celia then returned home.
