Dolly and Sam are still disagreeing over Jimmy, with Dolly thinking he should be given the benefit of the doubt. Maurice tells Seth he might have an opening for Jimmy at some point soon. Seth tells him that Jimmy's thinking of moving on. Jimmy speaks to Matt about having a child, worried about what's to come. Matt confides in him that he had twins but they died. At the same time, Susan talks to Dolly about the child, worrying about what the future holds for her and Jimmy. Seeing his prejudice against the people of Robblesfield, Badger tells Sam he can repay his debt by giving a reading at the communal service. Jimmy and Susan discuss staying in Beckindale. Jimmy feels that he needs to be somewhere where he doesn't have a bad reputation. Kitty's leaving makes Dolly ponder her place at the farm. Sam and Henry give their readings in church to both the Beckindale and Robblesfield members of the congregation. Seth and Jimmy share a moment as Seth comments he can understand Jimmy's wish to move away from the village. Kitty and Joe decide to make the most of the last of their time alone together.
