Mervyn Watson (born 1945) was the producer of Emmerdale between 1994 and 1998.

He was also the producer of Coronation Street from 1982 to 1985 and 1989 to 1992 and the executive producer of Casualty between 2002 and 2007 and Dalziel and Pascoe.

Mervyn's first episode as producer aired in late November 1994. One of Mervyn's biggest contributions to the show was when he made the Dingle family permanent characters in 1995, as they had only been meant to appear in a few episodes in 1994. Mervyn was a very controversial producer on Emmerdale. In January 1998, Tonicha Jeronimo (who played Linda Fowler) revealed how the bosses had pushed her so far, that she had to quit. Mervyn told Tonicha that she had to change her hair colour, which caused skin problems for the actress. The actress ended up quitting the role in April 1997, with hopes that she would remain until end of her contract in December but was let go by 2nd September. Tonicha wasn't even told by Mervyn that her character was killed off, and Mervyn falsely told her that the writers decided on her exit. Tonicha also stated how Mervyn showed how little he thought of them through the speeches at the actors farewell parties - repeating the same speech, word for word, only changing the names of who it was directed towards. Prior to this, Mervyn also permanently axed Frank Tate and Joe Sugden, killing off the characters despite the actors wanting to take time off.

Mervyn's last episode as producer aired in early August 1998.
