Tom Hawker was the foul mouthed father of Steve Hawker. He forced Pip Coulter out of Beckindale after finding out she was pregnant, and that Steve was not the father. Tom had seen Joe Sugden and Pip in public a couple of times so he accused Joe of being the father in front of a full Woolpack. A humiliated Joe punched Tom for his troubles, breaking a chair.
