America has been mentioned on Emmerdale on many occasions including:
- Joe Sugden going to America in 1980.
- Bob Hope's ex-wife Vonda Lockhart, living there along with their daughter Roxy Lockhart.
- Rosemary King moved to America in 2007 after the entire village turned on her. She committed suicide there on Christmas Day.
- Kelly Windsor was living in Los Angeles until January 2016.
